Integrated MMA/Fairtex fighter Chris “IGOR” Lokteff remains undefeated after Saturday night racking up his 7th consecutive KO/TKO stoppage over the always dangerous and experienced Jeff King. Both fighters began the fight confidently exchanging opening combinations before King sensing the danger in standing with Lokteff shot for the takedown. Lokteff defended well and King was unable to take the fight to the ground. Lokteff with hightened confidence unleashed a nice combination and found the mark with an uppercut that floored his opponent. After a dominant display of top control and some vicious ground and pound the fight was stopped and King left bloodied, bruised and battered. Another awesome display by IGOR.
Damien Brown faced late replacement Luke Hume. Both fighters wewre keen to impress after both having consecutive defeats to their name but it was Brown who would make the best of the occassion. Both men exchanged kicks early before Damien forced the fight to the ground with a solid double leg takedown. As Hume fought to return to his feat Brown took full advantage of Humes exposed neck and sunk a powerfull guillotine choke to bring the early submission victory home for the Integrated team.
Tyler Manawaroa also impressed in what was touted as a test deciding the best young MMA fighter of their age in Australia. Both young men fresh out of school went hell for leather in the opening exchanges to the cheers of their supporters. Manawaroa backed up Frincu with a nice right before Frincu lept in with a jumping knee. Manawaroa obsorbed the impact catching his opponent mid air and taking him down. On the ground both fighters had the opportunities in the top position before Tyler took the advantage taking mount and unleashing with ground and pound. Frincu rolled over and Manawaroa showed great skill to quickly get the tapoput by rear choke.
Also in the winners circle was Integrated MMA/Fairtex’s Grego Penaloza who along with his opponent Crag Lankester put on one of the fights of the night. “PACMAN” Penaloza showed excellent combinations of standup and grappling ability putting on the most complete demonstration of MMA on the night. In the second round Grego’s nonstop attack was rewarded when he was awarded the submission victory.
