Damien Brown was born and raised in Albury, NSW. He grew up as the eldest child in a family of 10. While he was living in Albury he developed a keen interest in martial arts and spent 7years training in Zen Do Kai attaining his Junior Black Belt. A keen sportsman, Damien played a number of sports but found a love for Rugby League and played the sport for 17years. Moving back to QLD Damien joined the Army as an Infantryman and was deployed overseas. On his return to Australia Damien had surgery for a bad injury and in Townsville began training in Kick Boxing as rehab for his injury and back in the world of combat sports.
From the same Townsville gym Damein was persuaded to try some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. This first lesson of BJJ was the catalyst that sent him on the path towards competing in his first Mixed Martial Arts fight. Although losing that first fight Damien believes that every loss inspires him to be even more determined to be the best he can be and continue to improve and pursue his goals further. In 2008 Damien was posted in Brisbane as a Physical Training Instructor in the Army and whilst in Brisbane began his training at Integrated MMA forging an impressive five fight winning streak under the guidance of coaches Dan Higgins, Steve Compton and Adrian Pang.
With an exciting style, determination and an iron will, Damien “BEAT DOWN” Brown is a fighter that is looking to follow in his team mates footsteps to the top of the Australian division and one day fight Internationally at the highest level.
