Integrated MMA/Fairtex rolled into Mackay for Warriors Realm last weekend and showed the Northern Locals why they are regarded as Australias number 1 MMA team.
David Greaves stepped up to fight the more experienced and always dangerous local boy Luke Hume. In what proved to be one of the fights of the night Dave showed resilience to defend many submission attempts and heavy kicks and punches from the larger Hume. With both fighters heavily fatigued from the non stop action it was Greaves who would finaly find the back of Hume before sinking in the rear choke for an impressive victory.
Next up was undefeated light heavyweight Chris “IGOR” Lokteff. Both fighters came out strongly with Lokteff showing superior footwork and skills as he threw a steady barrage of kick and punch combinations. Having felt enough of Lokteff’s power Rissetto clinched against the cage only to be reversed and fed a number of powerfull knees from the thai clinch. From there Lokteff opened up with his trademark flurry of punches felling his opponent face first into the mat for his 8th straight KO/TKO victory.
In the main event of the evening it was the return of the Jedi Tony Rossini fighting Sydney based undefeated fighter Sita Kaba. It was Rossini’s first fight at 73kg and both fighters came out of the blocks strongly with punches before wrestling against the cage. It would be Rossini to get the first take down, plowing his opponent into the canvass. Kaba immediately clenched at his shoulder and it was only Rossini’s good sportsmanship that allowed his opponent to stand back up with some time to recover. As the fight was restarted Rossini wasted no time in again taking his already damaged opponent back down before unleashing a barrage of elbows from side control. This would be to much for Kaba to absorb and he verbally submitted handing Rossini a long awaited comeback victory.
